Arts@Baythorn Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Arts@Baythorn program. We look forward to meeting your child and welcoming them to the application process.

Before you apply for Arts@Baythorn, review the information about the program to ensure it's the right fit for your child. 

 

Application Deadlines

February 18, 19, 20, 2025First Term - Report Card paper copy given when attending Collaborative Workshop
Early March 2025Acceptance/Waitlisted/Decline will be emailed out

Application Process

The link will be available on our website and active Jan 13-Jan 26, 2025.

You must submit a 8.5 x 11 Student Submission page complete and ready to upload during the Registration process on Edsby.

A $20 Registration Fee will be charged upon submission of your application (non -refundable should you not continue with the process after submission)

For your child’s Student Submission, we ask your child to share why Learning Collaboratively through the Arts would benefit them. 

  • Use only one 8.5 x 11 page to express yourself.
  • No photographs of students please.
  • This can be in any form of medium on paper (painting, drawing, photo of sculpture, written, poem, lyrics etc).
  • This is a student submission (families, please let your child do their own responses).
  • This must be be complete and ready to upload during the Registration process on Edsby.
  • Be creative. Use your imagination. Show us your personality.

Face to Face Attendance (February 18, 19, 20)

  • Collaborative Workshop booking on Edsby (to sign up) opens February 6, 2025 closes at February 12, 2025, at 11:59 pm
  • Collaborative Workshop will take place during the school day February 18-20, 2025.
  • The 30-min Collaborative Workshop will be held face to face here at Baythorn P.S.
  • Please record the date and time you sign up for the workshop. Please show up 15 min before hand and not before.
  • Please bring your First Term - Report Card
  • Organizing these workshops while running a school takes a great deal of coordination. These are the only dates for workshops. We will not able to offer alternative dates.

Please prepare your child should they not be accepted into Arts@Baythornrn. With 250+ applicants and 60 spots in Gr 5 and 30 in Gr 6, it is inevitable that some who apply will not be accepted. 

When and how will I be notified if my child is accepted, waitlisted or declined into the program? 

Families will be notified in early March 2025 with a notification of either statement; (1) acceptance, (2) wait listed or (3) declined.

If your child is accepted into the program your reply to Accept will be expected immediately. Please do not apply if this program if you are not sure you want to attend. With 250+ applications and 90 spots it is important that you are sure about your decision to apply.

**The waitlisted students are only on this list until September 2025. 

**We are not able to offer individual feedback with this many applicants.

There is a $20 application fee.

If accepted into Arts@Baythorn, students are required to pay a $300.00 Arts Activity Fee each year for the program. (*Financial support is available if/as needed). 

The activity fee helps to support the cost of this enriched program:

  • Presentations, workshops, guest artists and some field trips etc
  • Equipment, lighting, sound systems, resources and materials for productions
  • Equipment, repairs, resources and materials for the integration of the arts; Visual Arts, Drama, Music and Dance
